I'm not a slave to a god that doesnt exist

I have alot to say on the topic of religion. It's somewhat pathetic. Take Catholicism for example.

I'm supposed to be a catholic or a christian or whatever; theyre almost the same anyway. I've been baptised, had my holy communion, been to confession a couple of times and I have been to church, but not often.
My family arent exactly practising their faith; which is something I should be glad of as I'm a Satanist. Can you imagine - a Church full of strict god-worshippers...then me, who believes people are the way forward and we should control our own lives instead of leaving it up to some spirit.
Or, in my set of beliefs, not a spirit, just a figment of someone's imagination.

I've probably insulted you, but seriously, don't take it the wrong way. I've not written this to piss you off. I've written it so you can see my point of view.

In my opinion, religion is very similiar to politics and leadership. It's a huge oxymoron but take God and Hitler. Well, Catholicism & the Nazis.
See, Hitler started off as one pretty small man with a couple of ideas.  As a nobody, he wrote his ideas down. Then he took advantage of the crumbling society, used it to his power, made his beliefs public and gained followers. Understand what I'm getting at?
If you look at it properly, Catholicism is exactly the same. Jesus was possibly a little delusional, (who wouldn't be, his mum got pregnant without having sex, then told her husband it was a miracle. she was blatantly a slut) he had some ideas and made them public. Like Hitler, he gained some followers.
Fair enough, Hitler isnt as old as a religion, but still, years on he is remembered and by some people, still looked up on.
Basically, what I'm saying is: think of an idea, make it public so it appeals to others, get them to follow you and you have a 'club' as it were, or a cult, religion, dictatorship...whichever you want the most.
Or, instead of being completely original, steal someone elses idea, give it your own twist, rename it and change it slightly. All the best leaders are doing that. Helps if you listen in History too....because then you don't make the same mistakes they do. There's an actual chance that you could take over the world.
Right about now, I can hear you asking 'If Catholicism is made up, why do so many believe in it?'
Well, the answer to that is simple. Brainwashing. If Hitler can make the Germans believe they are superior and Jews are shit, then people can make you believe anything they want, with the right amount of conditioning and repetition.
Going to a Catholic school, you have to learn prayers and the correct responses. Even God's family tree. Youre made to feel guilty for every little thing you do. It's just wrong. Creates all kinds of negative feelings. Definitely not good for the emotions. That's why i'm a Satanist.
Obviously, it's hard to get out of the brainwashing cycle when you've had it for nearly ten years...so out of general respect,  God has a capital because that's his name and all imaginary friends are real to someone.
I completely disagree with him.
I believe in taking charge of your own life. Having fun and really living it, because you only live once. Why should we spend a whole lifetime feeling guilty, apologising constantly for trivial things and preparing for a life after death that might not even be real? It's fucking ridiculous.
Also, God's meant to be benevolent, omniscient and omnipotent.  Well, if he's so goddamn good, then why are people killing innocent people and not getting the right punishment they deserve? Why do bad things happen to good people?
Exactly. God's clearly a sadist. He obviously gets off on other people's pain.
So much easier to accept youve done wrong and just move on. Learn from your mistakes.
Fuck Catholicism.
