Look Alive

I've been so busy this past week that I haven't even had time to breathe.

Last Saturday I went to Blackpool with the family.

I remember as a child I used to go to the illuminations and it was always so beautiful. I can remember being there and loving how the lights lit everything up and how they sparkled. Most of all, I loved how we went as a family and had an amazing time.

The experience I had this time shattered my magical memories.

I knew that Blackpool is a bit nasty but I didn't expect it to be that bad. I imagine most of you know what it's like, but for those that don't, I'll try to describe it.
They have a lot of hen parties, people look generally scruffy and everyone tends to get totally wasted to the point of sickness. I decide how nice places are depending on whether or not people will be sick in the street after drinking so much.

Compared to Scarborough etc, this is the lowest of the low.

Traffic was at a standstill and the lights were boring. It was also really cold and we had to get out and walk. The toilets were disgusting, a man had weed himself and there was a woman being sick on the pavement. Like, I saw it come out of her mouth. Stupid bitch. That's going to take years to be removed from my brain.

We went home after that.

I doubt we'll be going to Blackpool again.

I went to the cinema on sunday with Joanna, Fran and Goodman. It was damn good. Not the film, that was shit...but just being there with the girls, totally carefree and happy.

I want more times like those.

On Monday I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It was so good and I genuinely wish the whole memory wiping thing was real. It would be so damn useful in times like these.
